Summary DISPUTE - Alleged failure to provide staff with uniform or clothing allowance - Whether alleged failure to provide uniforms amounted to direction to wear civilian clothing - Procedure relied on staff members to initiate requests for uniform - Difficulties experienced when trying to obtain uniform - Management not proactive in establishing and maintaining procedure for supply to staff members - To extent staff members' complaints arose out of inefficiencies caused by lack of coherent system regarding uniforms, complaints valid - Readily apparent that individual's own views played role in whether or not wore uniform - Matter did not suit being class action - Claims dismissed in regard to certain categories of staff who did not wear uniform - Not persuaded had no choice in matter of whether or not wore uniform - Only aspect of claim which had substance was persons who say had no choice but to wear civilian clothing during certain period when respondent acknowledged supply of uniforms on hold - Matter to be dealt with in first instance by any of those persons approaching respondent - If matter could not be resolved then leave reserved to refer to mediation and Authority if necessary - Recommendations given to respondent about uniform procedure
