Summary UNJUSTIFIED DISMISSAL - First respondent was employer - Applicant worked on projects for first respondent - Two weeks into project was told not to come into work for a few days since was no work available - When returned to work was told his assignment was not going to be continued and that his job had finished - Alleged was told had found someone who could do the job quicker and cheaper" - Whether or not any basis to performance concerns, no attempt made to follow any fair procedure - Contract provided that employment was temporary and length of any assignment could be reduced without notice - Failed to satisfy requirements of s66 Employment Relations Act 2000 so not permitted to agree to fixed term employment - Employment permanent but terminated at initiative of first respondent - Unjustified dismissal"
